There have been a couple of questions that have come up that, despite some research I really have been able to obtain a concrete answer.

First is concerning the Arrowhead Honor. Is that only to be worn underneath a Commissioner postion patch or can the Scouter, who has earned it, wear it if they are now serving in another postion?

Secondly, If the Commissioner has earned the Distinguished Commissioner as a UC (the bronze bolo and plaque) and he/she then becomes a RT, ADC or District Commissioner does he have to re-earn the Arrowhead and the Commissioner Key again plus the tenure and other requirements to receive the gold bolo and plaque? My thoughts are that you should.

The forum has been a little quite lately so I thought maybe I could liven it up. :D

I can answer your first question with absolute confidence and the second with some degree of confidence.

The Arrowhead Award is worn on the uniform of a commissioner. That is to say the uniform that bears a Commissioner's position of responsibility patch. It is not worn with a uniform that signifies unit affiliation or any other position of responsibility. (see page 4 of the Insignia Guide under Excess Insignia)

As for the re-earning the basic training and Arrowhead Award when your level of Commissioner service changes. Yes, that would be needed as the training is different, and the requirements for the Arrowhead differ depending on your conmmissioning role. In addition, your tenure begins anew as well.

Now here is the part I am pretty sure on. Once you have earned the Distiguished Commissioner award you have earned it. This is a recognition that does not need to get earned multiple times nor does it serve a practical purpose to recieve it multiple times. Although you can earn it different ways depending on your role in commissioning, you earn it for you contribution to all of commissioner service.

There is no need to prove yourself worthy again for the same distinction.

My interpetation is that you are correct in assuming that the position change requires one to complete the requirements over for the new position.
For instance; a Unit Commissioner moves into the ADC position, the requirements for the Arrowhead should be completed for the ADC position. He/She would then be able to wear the same Arrowhead either position.
I have never seen the bolo though. Where can I view a sample of one?

Pictures of the bolos can be found on an information flyer from national you can find at http://www.scouting.org/commissioners/resources/14-550.pdf. There are different colors for the plague and bolos for the different positions. Council and Assistant Council Commissioners are silver, District Commissioners, ADC's and Roundtable Commissioners are gold and Unit Commissioners are bronze. The knot is the same for all however.
