Does any past bear leaders know of any fun activities that did with their scouts that went well and was part of the achievements?

I'll never forget learning the lariat loop and having my den practice on the den leader's dog... Mookie was a lovable elkhound/shepard mix who stood close to our height while on all fours.

Exactly! You should begin to us of Denners in earnst. Each Month rotate the "job" from scout to scout, to make sure everyone gets a chance.
I had them select and run (with the help of their assist Denner) a game for the Den meetings, They selected and ran the opening ceremony for the Den meeting. The Assist Denner selected and ran the closing.
They even decided if they wanted snacks at the meeting, If so, they had to make the arrangements, bring it, set it up, and clean it up.
This position becomes more important during Webelos (in my view) as the Patrol Leader (yes, we call them patrols then, with a Patrol emblem and Leader) not only took care of opening/closing, games, snacks, but also the activities of the meeting. (But that's another story).
Just rememeber. You have so many parents in your Den as well. Don't let them off the hook! Get the "Parents Skill Survey" (back of Leader Book) and have them fill it out. Use it to ask someone to "run an event" for the Den.
That's how I did it. I ran the Den as we ran it during Tigers: every family took an activity and presented it to he group.
(I was hoping that ) This "trains" the parents to help in the Pack as well! ;)
Our Webelos 2 Patrol has 6 families. One is the Cub Master, another is the Chair, another runs the Pinewood derby. The Webeos 1 Patrol is doing the same thing we are (in regards to familiy participation) and one of their das is Tresurer, anohter runs pancake breakfast and another is in charge of our SUmmer program (6 outings a Summer).
Also, our Webelos 2 wil be crossing over soon, and I have 3 dads iching to take Scoutmaster training toi become Asistant Scoutmasters when we all join the Troop.
Soory, I went a bit off topic, sorry. But utiize your parents for activities, it will help you even more in the long run!
Good luck.
