Hey everyone, Hello. I am assistant cuboree chief for January 2007 in South Florida @ C.B. Smith Park, Pembroke Pines Florida. I need your help, our theme is past-present-future and I am in charge of the campfire. I am trying to get a firelog from every State or Territory.

I would like to recreate the fire at the National Jamboree in 1910. All logs 4 to 5 feet please. Just send me one along with a picture of your troop or pack to create a collage of donators.

Please send to:

Please check with your Council Camp Director. Many council camps, and in fact many campgrounds of all kinds, are not allowing any outside wood to be brought in. There is a BIG problem with various tree pests being transported accross the country that way.

Is a nice campfire a fair exchange for having many of the trees in your camp become infested with a tree borer and possibly cut down?

The DNR of Michigan won't allow any firewood to be transported anywere because of the Emerald Ash Borer.

For more information check here http://www.emeraldashborer.info/

You might do better asking this on the Leaders Scouting Forum rather than here on the Parents forum.

This forum is for parents-mentors who are new to Scouting, not currently involved, and/or not a Scouting volunteer.
