My pack is considering a 'Recycling ' program for the uniforms. We are going to ask that the boys, as they grow out of there uniforms donate them to the pack so that we can uniform new boys in the group that do not have the ability to buy new uniforms. As a part of this we have received the assistance of the local Community centers ( Goodwill, St. Vincent De Paul......) in starting this process. Does anyone else have such a program in place at the unit level. If so can you reply as to its success ( or I hope not failure). If you don't have such a program how do u assist the boys that require assistance. in this matter

We have a uniform closet. We ask for a $5.00 donation to receive a shirt out of the closet. We use that money to purchase uniforms from gargage sales, the Salvation Army, Goodwill, etc. We also will take shirts in trade. Our troop has been doing this for close to 5 years now. Our problem right now, is we have smaller shirts in the closet, but the boys keep getting bigger!!

The pack I am with has a small uniform closet also. It just doesn't get much use at this time.
