Our family took our annual ski trip this January. My son and his snowboard instructor were snowboarding one day when a snowboarder crashed into my sons instructor. The instructor was injured and unable to help the injured snowboarder. At first the injured snowboarder was unconscious, had a head laceration and was in shock. My son was able to administer first aid he learned in scouting to control the bleeding and treat the boy for shock while they waited for the ski patrol. The snowboard instructor as well as the ski school director later complimented our son on his performance. He was able to stay cool and he knew exactly what to do. My son is a 14 year old Life Scout.
