Is Scouting mainly for your son only or do you think Scouting can be a good use of time for you and your son?

Cub Scouting is focused on the boy and his family, while Boy Scouting is more focused on the individual boy, but my personal experience is that I still find it to be an excellent experience for me AND my son.

Yes, Scouting is for the kids. Scouting is also for any adult who would like to have an impact on a child's life.

That impact can come in many forms -

Working with your son as his Tiger Adult Partner
Making phone calls
Making/copying flyers
Becoming BALOO trained and taking your Pack camping
Working with your son on his Wolf & Bear rank requirements
Supplying needed activity items
Becoming a leader for your son's den
Running an activity at a Pack meeting
Becoming a member of your unit's Committeee
Driving for an event
Working with your son's Webelos den on an Activity Pin
Working a popcorn Booth Sale
Becoming your unit's Popcorn Kernal
Making props for your unit's skits
Decorating for your unit's meetings
Bringing snacks
Becoming a leader/advisor with your son's Troop/Crew
Encouraging your son to become a Den Chief
Encouraging your son to volunteer as "Youth Staff" for Cub events
Working to train new adults
Encouraging your son to advance
Staffing Day Events, Day Camps, Summer Camps
Be a member of a Board of Review
Participate in your unit's service projects
Helping your unit after your son has moved out of it
Encouraging your son to become a leader once he is no longer a "youth"

All of the above & much more!
